FlashStack is a Converged Infrastructure (CI) solution that’s comprised of Cisco UCS servers, Cisco networking components and Pure Storage all-flash storage arrays. FlashStack is a rack-level infrastructure solution that is configured for specific workloads or use cases, such as server/desktop virtualization, database, test and development, private/hybrid cloud, etc.
FlashStack is available with block and file storage (with S3 connectivity) using the FlashArray and FlashBlade Pure Storage systems. Pure also offers the FlashStack Mini, for entry-level deployments or specialized applications that require a dedicated infrastructure. The Mini starts a single Cisco 5108 UCS blade server chassis and Pure Storage FlashArray with 12.5TB of capacity and fibre channel or iSCSI connectivity.
FlashStack configurations follow the list of Cisco Validated Designs (CVD) and are implemented through FlashStack partners. CVDs can also provide a starting point that’s modified to fit specific customer requirements.
Pure Storage Arrays
FlashStack is available with the Pure Storage FlashArray//M, FlashArray//X and FlashBlade storage systems. Pure Storage’s Flash Array and FlashBlade systems use purpose-built flash modules (not SSDs) and offer embedded, inline data reduction and a slate of advanced storage services.
